  Unit was dated (old rug etc) but clean and comfortable with excellent location in the complex. Kitchen reasonably but eclectically supplied, no kettle though (a problem for us tea drinkers). There are lots of beach toys et. Most puzzling to us was the Coop's approach cleaning supplies - there was no mop and no whisk, let alone any cloths or cleaning solutions etc. It might be in the owner's interest to have these materials on hand for guests.....

  Our family stayed in unit 223 for a week. The condo was well equipped with tons of beach toys. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The location was perfect! We watched whales from our lanai. Right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to many great restaurants. We would rent this condo again!

  This location was ideally located & the grounds were amazing.
  
  The condo itself was fine for what we needed, a space to eat & sleep, but the condo is in DIRE need of an upgrade! The carpets are OLD and NEED replacing & the kitchen, while serviceable, also needs an upgrade.
  
  While the condo needs some upgrades, I need to say the cleanliness of the condo when we arrived was questionable. I am certain that we left the condo cleaner (I cleaned the condo myself, but still not the cleanest) than when we arrived. The people cleaning the condo do not do a good job, they only clean the surfaces (example: the top of the fridge had YEARS of dirt solidified, took me 15 min. to clean & it still WAS NOT clean).
  
  Otherwise, this condo & the complex were great & we'd recommend the Hale Kamaole complex to others.

  We have stayed in Hale Kamaole for 12 of the last 15 years. Have a good experience in all the condos until now. 223 is the most disappointing condo we have stayed in. It needs some serious attention. There are soft spots in the upper bedroom floor that are going to punch through some day soon. Some of the grout in the upstairs bathroom is missing and the tiles are starting to come loose. We had to buy a kettle because the one in the condo was filled with black scale. The kitchen is short of utensils. The scissors in the kitchen drawer look like it was dug out of a garden after being buried for years. The location is great with a good ocean view. Would expect a much better maintained condo for $429 a night

Sometimes utensils get lost or broken between guests, and we do try to keep them replenished. If we've missed something, we appreciate guests letting us know. This unit is one of the few in the area that offers space for 6 to 8 people, which we hope makes it a cost-effective choice for larger groups.

  We had a great stay at Hale Kamaole! Great location, right across the street from the beach. Very clean with lots of towels and beach equipment like chairs, coolers, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. The pool was great for days when you don't want to get sandy at the beach.   Great location and the grounds are kept stunning! The kids love the two pools and the bbqs are convenient.
  The unit 223 has the option of two twin beds in the main level bedroom which worked great for our kids. It’s well layed out.
  Overall compared to other units we’ve stayed in, this unit is looking tired and is in need of minor updates/refresh (and some sharper knives!). The sliding screen was very stuck and hard to open. We had many little ants in the kitchen so the office had to come by and spray.

  This rental experience only made me want to stay even longer! This rental property not only has two different pools we got to enjoy, but the patio view to the beach was extraordinary! Enjoyed the patio seating for early morning coffee and breakfast. This stay was one for the books! The only thing that I was sad I didn’t notice earlier was the outdoor storage unit, there was snorkeling gear, sand toys and much more we could have used while staying there! But no negative reviews!

  We had a great time at the condo. The only negative was the quality of the Internet connection. For the first couple of days the internet in our condo did not work at all. The property manager said it was the owner's fault: they did not set up the Internet correctly after a recent change of the Internet provider, or something like that. The property manager advised us to connect to neighbors' Internet. Which is what we ended up doing, but the quality of connection was very poor. Couple of days later, a technician came over to fix the Internet. After that we finally gained an access to out condo's Internet, however the quality of connection was very bad: basically only good enough for text and low res photos. It was quite nostalgic, because it reminded me of the good old times when I had dial-up internet connection as a teenager. So that was the only negative experience of an otherwise great stay.

With the beach right across the street, the pool even closer and a terrific, broad, landscaped lawn between the units, we greatly appreciated the collection of boogie boards, snorkels, balls, etc. available in the condo. Temperature regulation was something of an issue as the bedroom air conditioners struggled.

  We really loved the location of our stay. If you are a bigger group and need to find a place for you to gather this is great! With two private rooms and a sofa sleeper it worked well for our family. It’s not a luxury resort, these units have been there for a while but we really enjoyed it. The two bedrooms had air conditioning which was nice. It was a little warm in the loft. We do recommend this to a budget conscious family like ours! So glad we found this place! We loved the snorkeling down at the nature reserve best! You can snorkel right there and we saw several turtles at Kamaole 3 one swam right up to us.

  Location was great, walk to beach, very close to surfing etc rentals, delicious eats nearby. liked kitchen to cook for self. We had 7 adults stay & one baby. good bathrooms/showers. newer a/c units worked well enough to cool place. extra floor fan was nice, needed another in main room. wifi great. beach gear 2 chairs, umbrella, 2 boogie boards, flippers (small size). went during early August 2019, it was humid and hot. place had small rice cooker, vacuum, iron/board, laundry machine in unit; used to often dry the towels. management was helpful when tub didn't drain, got fixed within hour. could use more utensils. the ceiling fans are old, worked ok but newer ones would be better. fan over loft had one speed only - slow. Still, I would stay there again for the location and homey feel.

  Overall loved the unit. Great Views. Both pools nice. Close to beach, restaurants, very nice quiet peaceful place. No complaints at all. Ac in rooms nice. Loft can get hot but an overhead ceiling fan provided as well as standing fan. Nice laundry washer dryer is included. We are a family of 8 and comfortably fit. 8 probably is the max. We had two kids in the queen sized loft bed, 2 on the queen sized pullout in the living room, 2 in the separate room in the twin beds and me and mom in one room with a queen bed. Plenty of room to eat too. Dining table fits 4 and patio fits 4. Would definitely come back.

Only opportunities for improvement would be to upgrade the linens. They where quite old, add a caution blinking light for the cross walk to the beach- a few drivers missed the crosswalk, and on 3 occasions I went to BBQ and the propane was out on a BBQ.- there should be extra in waiting. Other than that it was fantastic.

  This condo is in a great location. There is a beach (with a lifeguard) directly across the street where you can swim with turtles. It is a short drive to local markets and stores where you can shop. We will definitely keep this in mind for our next trip to Maui. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the smoke detector battery was low and kept beeping and when I called and told them, nobody came and replaced it.

  Great stay in unit 223. Interior was a little dated compared to other units we've stayed at in Maui but the view from the lanai and the location across the street from Kam III can't be beat. The unit was well equipped, beds were comfy and our only observation was that some of the beach equipment (chairs, boogie boards, etc.) had seen better days but it was great to not have to rent them from a third party.
  
  We enjoyed Kam III beach across the street almost every day for late afternoon wave jumping/boogie boarding and found snorkeling on the rocks between Kam II and Kam III along with Ulua Beach great. Also enjoyed the walk at La Perouse Bay.
  
  We did discover that the pool & BBQ area in the upper area was closer for us and less busy. In addition, the upper pool area enjoys views of the ocean from the lounge chairs that the lower pool does not due to the hedge. Sunsets were awesome! We hope to be back!

  We enjoyed the beach, ocean view, the sunset, the grounds, dinner on the lanai, and the local island food. Local fruit was out of season, but fresh fish seemed to be in good supply. Got a week's pass to the Ocean Center which was worthwhile. Made a trip to Haleakala. Had great dinner at Sansei's.

  Our family was very pleased with Hale Kamaole. It was fully furnished for many activities in Maui. The ocean is across the street. The key pad nice for easy access to the condo.
